Disruption as bus strikes take effect

Bus users in the west of the capital are set to face days of disruption as more than 350 drivers and engineers are taking strike action.

Staff at London Transit will walk out today, as well as on Monday 15th, Monday 22nd, Tuesday 23rd, and Wednesday 24th December after rejecting the latest pay offer from the operator’s parent company, First Bus London.

Members of Unite the Union are unhappy with the proposed deal, which, it claims, introduces a new, lower-paid starter grade for drivers.

First Bus London said it was disappointed that staff at London Transit had rejected its revised pay offer; however, it had further talks planned with Unite.
