Buses too big to serve some roads
26 Jan 2026
New electric buses will no longer be able to serve two roads in Devon because the vehicles are too big to squeeze down them.
Changes in Torquay from Sunday 1st February are due to affect the 35A and 35C services, which will no longer serve Hartop Road and Park Road.

Stagecoach South West said the service changes were ‘necessary’ so its new buses could operate safely and reliably, and that it was working with Torbay Council to review the 35 route to consider whether additional bus stops may be possible.
The operator plans to run 55 ZEBs (zero emission buses) across Torbay, providing what, it said, would be cleaner, quieter, and more sustainable travel.
