Herds of deer roam freely about Hampton Court Park, which covers an area of about 304 ha (750 ac) and has been open to the public since 1894. It features meadows interspersed with trees, several ponds, and a golf course. The lake known as The Longwater flows roughly eastward from the back of Hampton Court Palace.
