Mompesson House

Mompesson House
On the north side of Choristers Green is Mompesson House. Built in 1701 and set in a walled garden, it is one of the finest houses in Cathedral Close. Furnished as an 18th-century town house, it features a fine collection of glasses from the same period.

Salisbury and South Wiltshire Museum
In The King’s House at 65 The Close is the Salisbury and South Wiltshire Museum, which has award-winning galleries on Stonehenge and Old Sarum, amongst others. It also features ceramics, a Wedgwood room, pre-NHS (National Health Service) surgery, costume, lace, embroidery, a picture gallery, and exhibitions.

Secrets of Salisbury
In the Medieval Hall Office at 10 Shady Bower is Secrets of Salisbury. This 30-minute AV presentation describes the city’s past and present, as well as taking you on a flying visit to many attractions in the region.

Wilton House

Wilton House
Wilton House, set in 8.5 ha (21 ac) of landscaped parkland and gardens, is the stately home to the Earls of Pembroke. There are staterooms by Inigo Jones (1573 – 1652) and a world-famous art collection.
