20 Jul 2022

Opposition councillors have described cuts to supported bus services across Kent as a ‘managed decline’.

Kent County Council (KCC) subsidises nearly 40 routes facing the axe from Monday 31st October.

Councillors debated the cuts, along with plans for a new transport strategy for the county, at a full council meeting.

Conservative-controlled KCC has received £35 million from the government for its Bus Improvement Plan but cannot use this to support existing routes.
