Double-decker hits shopfront

A double-decker bus has crashed in Glastonbury, Somerset, leaving it partly embedded in a shopfront.

The bus struck the building, which is on the High Street, just before 11 00 (11 a.m.) yesterday morning.

Avon and Somerset Police closed the road at its junctions with Victoria Buildings and Lambrook Street while work to assess the safety of the building took place.

Although an ambulance crew took the bus driver to hospital, reports suggest his injuries are not serious.
