Cameras for new bus lanes

North Somerset Council could install as many as 44 new traffic cameras to help enforce bus lane regulations.

Currently, there are four ANPR (automatic number plate recognition) cameras in North Somerset, all of which are in Weston-super-Mare.

The authority already plans to install further cameras across the district to enforce 18 new bus priority schemes.

The Long Ashton bypass will be the first road to get a new bus lane, with work starting on Monday 13th March.
