Boy admits bus stop killing

A 17-year-old boy has admitted killing a schoolgirl in a stabbing at a bus stop in Croydon, Greater London.

The boy attacked 15-year-old Elianne Andam on Wellesley Road in September 2023 as she made her way to school, the Old Bailey — the chief criminal court for England and Wales — heard.

The teenage boy — unnamed because of his age — pleaded guilty to Elianne’s manslaughter but denied murder.

Prosecutors, however, did not accept the plea, and a trial is set to take place, at the same court, in November.
