Illegal parking holds up bus

Vehicles parked illegally in Swindon, Wiltshire, caused a long delay for a bus, leading to calls for action.

The ‘inconsiderate’ parking, on the edge of the roundabout in Eastbury Way, Blunsdon St Andrew, meant that the bus was stuck for several hours.

Cllr Daniel Adams, of Swindon Borough Council, said buses needed to ‘navigate this tight roundabout’ and, because of the parking, were having ‘extreme difficulty’.

A spokesperson for the authority warned motorists that the police could stop them if they parked inconsiderately.
