Southsea Castle Review ②

Alongside Clarence Esplanade is Southsea Castle. Built in the 1540s at the request of King Henry VIII (1491 – 1547), it contains displays illustrating Portsmouth’s development as a military fortress, aspects of naval history, and local archaeology.
