Bus roof ripped off in crash

A woman suffered a head injury after a bus had its roof ripped off as it hit a bridge in West Sussex.

The bus struck the railway bridge in Rocky Lane, Haywards Heath, at about 06 40 (6.40 a.m.), closing the road.

Paramedics treated the woman at the scene before taking her to the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton & Hove, East Sussex.

South East Coast Ambulance Service (Secamb) confirmed they also treated the driver of the bus at the scene.
