Electric bus funding awarded

Councils in the southeast of England are among 25 local authorities to receive millions of pounds in government funding to decarbonise their bus fleets.
The Brighton & Hove, Surrey, and West Sussex regions will share £16.2 million, which the government has allocated to the Zero Emission Bus Regional Area programme.

The government initiative will make a further £142.8 million available to help roll out more electric buses in England.
The chair of Brighton & Hove City Council’s transport and sustainability committee, Trevor Muten, said: ‘What a breakthrough for our city!’
