Bus lane roll-out ‘challenging’
17 May 2024
North Somerset Council’s road chief said it should roll out new bus lanes in the region over a period of up to a decade, not three years.
Hannah Young, Executive Member for Highways and Transport, said the volume of schemes we are delivering is ‘challenging’.

The council has opened four bus lanes since receiving £48 million in government funding; last month, however, it paused plans to roll out further lanes.
The authority installed its first bus lane on the Long Ashton bypass a year ago; its most recent one was on the Brockley Combe junction of the A370.
