Victory parade for Oxford United

Oxford United Football Club will continue their celebrations with an open-top bus parade through the city.

Yesterday, the team beat Bolton Wanderers 2 – 0, securing promotion to the EFL [English Football League] Championship for the first time in 25 years.

Oxford City Council announced that a victory parade would take place tomorrow, starting at The Plain at 17 55 (5.55 p.m.), before travelling over Magdalen Bridge and along the High Street to Oxford Town Hall.

Leader of the council Susan Brown said she was ‘delighted to welcome Oxford United to the Town Hall to celebrate’.
