KCC saves at-risk bus services

Kent County Council (KCC) has saved a number of bus services, which were at risk of cancellation, in Ashford.

The authority stepped in to protect some of the Stagecoach South East services expected to end next month.

The 2 and 2A (Ashford – Tenterden), 10 (Folkestone – Ashford), and 14 (Ashford – Wye) routes will continue for at least another 12 months.

Cllr Neil Baker, Cabinet Member for Highways and Transport at KCC, said the authority was keen to step in to ‘avoid what is a very fragile bus network contracting even further’.
