Route’s evening services suspended

Arriva Kent Thameside says it has suspended evening journeys on one of its bus routes due to safety concerns.

The operator added that the most recent incident on its 482 route, which runs between Gravesend and Kings Farm, saw windows smashed, with the shattered glass landing on a child in a buggy.

Arriva said there had been ‘a series of serious incidents’ involving objects being thrown at its buses, so the final service would now leave Gravesend at 17 47 (5.47 p.m.) on weekdays and 17 35 (5.35 p.m.) on weekends.

Michael Jennings, head of commercial for Arriva Southern Counties, said: ‘This kind of reckless and dangerous behaviour is completely unacceptable.’
