Residents win bus-route campaign
06 Aug 2025
Residents of a Gloucestershire town, which lost a key bus route due to funding problems, have won their campaign to reinstate it.
Locals in Wotton-under-Edge previously said The Big Lemon’s Y8 service, which allows them to travel on to Bristol, was ‘essential’ to them.

The residents have campaigned for the route since its cancellation in August 2024, arguing that it was vital for access to work, college, shops, and medical appointments.
Cllr Linda Cohen, from Gloucestershire County Council, said the reinstatement of the route, from Monday 1st September, was a ‘fantastic outcome for our communities’.
