Fundraiser for injured bus driver

26 Feb 2026

A colleague of a Gatwick Airport bus driver — injured when his vehicle struck a stationary vehicle — has set up a fundraising page.

Jack Garrod was driving a double-decker bus just before 05 00 (5 a.m.) on Sunday 22nd February when he hit a parked police car.

On Tuesday 24th February, Steve Robinson, Mr Garrod’s colleague, set up a GoFundMe page to support the father-of-two’s rehabilitation; it had reached 67% (£2,695) of its £4,000 target as of 11 30 (11.30 a.m.) today.

Mr Robinson said: ‘Instead of focusing solely on recovery, he [Mr Garrod] is worrying about how he’s going to pay household expenses, and how to continue providing for his family.’
