05 Nov 2020
A cycle lane scheme in Bristol, introduced in August, has ‘totally messed up’ a major bus route in the city, the mayor has said.
The aim of the scheme, brought in during the pandemic, was twofold: to tackle air pollution and to make it easier to walk, cycle, and social distance.

Mayor of Bristol: Marvin Rees
The Mayor of Bristol, Marvin Rees, said the lane on Lewins Mead had ruined the bus route and caused delays.
Situated on the A38, Lewins Mead is a busy route for a number of FirstBus services travelling both in and out of the city.
