MoD documents at bus stop

A passer-by found classified MoD (Ministry of Defence) documents containing details about HMS [Her Majesty’s Ship] Defender and the British military at a bus stop in Kent.

One set of documents discusses the likely Russian reaction to the ship’s passage through Ukrainian waters off the Crimea coast on Wednesday 23rd June.

A second set of documents details plans for a possible UK military presence in Afghanistan after the US-led NATO (North Atlantic Treaty Organisation) operation ends there.

The Government said it had launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the documents at the bus stop.
