New £25 million bus plan

More environmentally friendly buses will be on the roads as part of a £25 million government bid to clean up the air.

People across the Hampshire and Portsmouth council areas will be able to catch one of 177 new zero-emission buses.

The government says the manufacturing of the new buses will take place in Northern Ireland and will sustain high-skilled jobs.

The project, which also includes the Norfolk, West Yorkshire, and York council areas, is part of a wider £300 million rollout of 1,395 greener buses.
