Bus driver rescues a sheep

A bus driver on her first day behind the wheel rescued a sheep from a busy dual carriageway in East Sussex.

Martine Patey, a rail replacement driver, spotted the animal on the A27, near Brighton, as she took passengers to Eastbourne.

Ms Patey said the sheep was ‘causing havoc for passing cars’ and had been ‘running all over the road’.

With the help of two motorists, the bus driver managed to get the animal onto the bus and to safety.
