Stagecoach services facing cuts

Stagecoach South East is planning widespread changes that will see scores of bus routes cut or reduced in Kent.

The operator said rising costs and falling demand had forced it to consider axing or reducing services in the area.

Kent County Council (KCC) has previously described the region’s operating model for bus services as ‘broken’.

The Department for Transport (DfT), which is responsible for overseeing the transport system, says it has given KCC over £16 million in funding to improve local transport.
