Service wins temporary reprieve

South Gloucestershire Council has temporarily reprieved a bus service that was facing the axe.

Locals raised concerns over cuts to the 84/​85 service, which runs between Wotton-under-Edge and Yate.

The authority says the service, which was due to end today, will now continue with a limited timetable for a further three months while it explores a longer-term solution.

Barbara Lawrence, who is the organiser of the bus group ‘Save the W-u-E to Yate’, said: ‘Everyone involved is delighted.’
