Metrobus to launch new fleet

A West Sussex operator is to expand the number of hydrogen-fuelled vehicles it operates when it adds almost 40 more buses to its fleet.

Metrobus, based in Crawley, currently has 15 single-decker vehicles working its most rigorous routes.

The firm says it will have 54 vehicles by the end of 2024, making it one of the largest fleets of hydrogen-powered buses in Europe.

Ed Wills, managing director of Metrobus, said the zero-emission vehicles are ‘a step towards decarbonising our economy’.
