Windrush bus at Notting Hill

A Windrush-themed bus is set to run at the Notting Hill Carnival in Kensington, Greater London, to mark the 75th anniversary of the docking of HMT [His Majesty’s Transport] Empire Windrush.

The double-decker features artwork by artist Baraka Carberry and will run as part of the Transport for London (TfL) float during this weekend’s parade.

TfL says the bus will celebrate the contributions of the Windrush generation, which travelled from the Caribbean to the UK.

The Windrush bus will get another outing in October, as it is also set to run during Black History Month.
