Operator warns about LTN impact

Liveable neighbourhoods are causing delays across busy routes in Somerset, a bus operator has warned.

First West of England, which runs most of the buses in Bath, says the closure of a city centre road to through traffic has pushed more traffic onto other streets, causing congestion and delays.

Bath & North East Somerset [B&NES] Council is rolling out liveable neighbourhoods — also called ‘low traffic neighbourhoods’ or LTNs — across the city.

First West of England says B&NES Council’s plans to overhaul other routes could cause further disruption and make cars ‘the most attractive option’ for people in Bath.
