First Solent drivers to go on strike

Bus drivers and supervisors in a Hampshire city are set to take industrial action over a dispute about pay.

More than 140 members of Unite the Union in Southampton have confirmed they intend to strike on the following weekends this month: 11th – 12th, 18th – 19th, and 25th – 26th.

First Solent said its Monday – Friday services would operate as normal but industrial action would impact some weekend services.

Unite the Union said its members were left with ‘little choice’ as they were yet to see an ‘acceptable’ pay offer.
