Boy charged over bus abuse

Police have charged a 17-year-old boy over anti-Semitic abuse made on a bus in Greater London.

A Jewish man, named only as Yosef, suffered verbal abuse in two separate incidents on the evening of Sunday 4th July; the first took place on a bus into Oxford Street, the second was at Oxford Circus tube station.

British Transport Police said it had charged the boy with a religiously aggravated public order offence.

The teenager is due to appear at Highbury Corner Magistrates’ Court, Highbury, on Monday 2nd August.
