17 May 2023
The government has announced it has extended the £2 cap on bus fares in England until Tuesday 31st October.
The cap, which applies to more than 130 bus operators outside London, will then rise in November and remain at £2.50 for 12 months before a price review takes place.

Bus fares are capped at £2 in England until the end of October
The government has now extended the current limit on fares twice after warnings that operators may have to cut hundreds of services without it.
The aim of the fare cap is to ease cost-of-living pressures on passengers but also to encourage people to use buses.
