Project to ease bus travel

A project designed to make bus journeys faster for passengers is set to begin on a major road in Bristol.

Bristol City Council is drawing up plans for work — to include new bus lanes and pedestrian crossings — on the A37 Wells Road.

Besides making journeys quicker, the scheme aims to make bus services more reliable and cheaper by boosting infrastructure.

The project, costing £200million, is part of the au­tho­rity’s wider programme of changes to the city’s transport network.
