Park-and-ride return on hold

A park-and-ride service in Berkshire that was suspended whilst a council spent almost £2.8 million expanding its car park, is not set to resume due to a funding shortfall.

Winnersh Triangle park-and-ride, between Wokingham and Reading town centre, began in 2015.

Wokingham Borough Council halted the service in 2021 while it added a second deck to the car park.

Reading Buses said it ‘lacks the means’ to run the service without more funding from the authority.
