Bus project almost complete

Swindon Humanitarian Aid Project (SHAP) has almost completed a project to convert a bus into an emergency field hospital for the Russia-Ukraine war.

SHAP has replaced the vehicle’s seats with three hospital beds and fitted the bus with water and power.

Wiltshire operator Swindon’s Bus Company gave the vehicle to SHAP, which was set up to help those in Ukraine.

Mike Bowden, the chair of SHAP, said the bus would be heading off to the war-torn country later this month.
