Work begins on bus charging hub

Work on what will be one of the biggest electric charging hubs in the UK is under way in Oxford, Oxfordshire.

The facility, at the Oxford Bus Company depot, will charge Go-Ahead Group’s new fleet of electric vehicles.

Reports suggest the first buses, which form a fleet of 159, will begin appearing on the city’s roads in September.

The buses will serve an area from Cumnor to the west of the city, Wheatley to the east, Kidlington to the north, and Sandford-on-Thames to the south.
