TfL to axe Day Travelcards
22 Jul 2023
London’s Deputy Mayor for Transport has confirmed the phasing out of Day Travelcards, perhaps by as early as January 2024.
Transport for London (TfL) will no longer sell or accept the daily paper tickets on any of its bus services after the cutoff date.

Seb Dance told Mark Harper, the Secretary of State for Transport: ‘TfL can no longer afford [to fund the £40 million Travelcard Agreement], which represents a subsidy by Londoners.’
TfL expects passengers travelling from outside the capital to use contactless or Oyster cards on arrival.
