Fare arrest witnesses wanted

The police watchdog wants witnesses who saw a passenger arrested for bus fare evasion in Croydon, Greater London, to come forward.
Video footage of the woman shouting as two officers — who wrongfully accused her of fare evasion — handcuffed her in front of her child, provoked criticism online.

The police watchdog is reviewing the Met’s handling of the incident
The officers subsequently de-arrested the woman when told she had paid the fare for the 157 bus.
The Metropolitan Police said the video was a ‘snapshot’ of the incident, which took place on Whitehorse Road on Friday 21st July, but admitted ‘trust had taken a hit’.
