Mayor wants service improvements

The Mayor of Burnham-on-Sea, Somerset, said the town’s bus services have to improve because late and cancelled buses are affecting people’s lives.

Cllr Lesley Millard said as part of Burnham-on-Sea and Highbridge Town Council’s climate plan, the authority had set up a bus users group to encourage more frequent use of public transport.

The Mayor, however, added: ‘We found to our trepidation there is no service that is any good to people.’

FirstBus (South) said they know there have been ‘service issues’ and they are ‘sorry for the impact this has had on local bus users’.
