Bus firm apologises over crash

A bus firm has apologised after one of its double-deckers had its roof ripped off in Bournemouth, Dorset, when it hit a tree’s branches, leaving a passenger injured.

The crash, involving a route 20 bus operated by More, occurred in West Way, Charminster, at about 18 00 (6 p.m.) yesterday evening.

Richard Wade, general manager at More, said a passenger had been on the stairs when the bus hit low-hanging branches.

Dorset Police previously confirmed that one person had needed treatment in hospital after sustaining a wrist injury.
