Man Tasered after bus threats

Police Tasered a man after he threatened bus passengers in Greater London with an unknown substance.

The Metropolitan Police said the man made threats on a bus in London Road, Thornton Heath, at about 20 30 (8.30 p.m.) yesterday evening.

The force said the man did not hold anybody hostage and he did not throw the substance, which turned out not to be harmful.

Officers fired the Taser before arresting the 44-year-old on suspicion of affray. He remains in hospital in a non-life-threatening condition.
