Bus service decline ‘devastating’

Campaigners in Somerset say the reduction of a local bus service following the introduction of a new timetable has been ‘devastating’.

The campaigners have criticised the timetable for the number 25 bus, which runs between Taunton and Dulverton via Wiveliscombe.

The Wivey Bus User Group says the service — saved from the axe in February after the operator and Somerset Council reached a new agreement — no longer runs at some of the most busy and popular times.

FirstBus (South West), which trades as The Buses of Somerset, said it is conducting a ‘comprehensive review’ of the route.
