New bus route set to bypass town
16 Aug 2024
Rural residents in Gloucestershire, who rely on a ‘crucial’ bus service to Bristol, could be about to see it replaced in favour of a new service that will bypass their town.
The 84/85 bus — which connects Wotton-under-Edge (and villages in the South Gloucestershire council region) to Yate, where many passengers catch trains into the city — will cease to run on Sunday 1st September.

Reports suggest a new WESTlocal two-hourly flexible service will then begin, connecting villages such as Wickwar and Hawkesbury Upton to Yate, but not Wotton-under-Edge.
Residents of Wotton-under-Edge have raised concerns about those people who need the current service.
