‘Quirkiest’ items left on buses

Two operators in the southeast of our region have revealed the quirkiest items left on their buses in 2024.

Brighton & Hove and Metrobus, who run services across Surrey, West Sussex, East Sussex, and Kent, said a canoe, a fridge, and false teeth were among the possessions found by their staff.

The bus firms said in a joint press conference that passengers had left more than 13,000 items on their vehicles last year.

Wallets, phones, keys, hats, and scarves were the things most often left behind, but the two companies said they found a ‘surprisingly large’ number of big items as well.
