Route cut criticised

Users of a discontinued bus service, which ran between a village and a city, have criticised Devon County Council for shelving it.

Tally Ho operated the weekly 875 route for the authority until yesterday, when the bus firm handed back the contract, blaming a lack of drivers.

Former passengers of the Bigbury-on-Sea – Plymouth bus said the 35-km (20-mi) link had been a lifeline.

Devon County Council said it had not been able to find another operator to run the service but had put in place some alternatives.
