New priority bus routes

Bristol City Council is to give buses priority over cars along four main routes into the city centre to encourage people to use public transport.

The authority is planning major changes on the city’s routes to improve punctuality and to shorten journey times.

The works are likely to include new bus lanes and will affect the A37, A38, A4018, Bath Road, and Portway.

The plans form part of Bristol City Council’s £200 million programme of changes to the city’s transport network.
