No bus death verdict

24 Mar 2023

A jury has failed to reach a verdict in the trial of a bus driver accused over the death of a woman outside London Victoria Station.

A bus propelled 32-year-old Melissa Burr into the air and under a parked bus, which Olusofa Popoola had shunted from behind.

Ms Burr sustained multiple injuries and died following the crash — on Terminus Place, Victoria — on the morning of Tuesday 10th August 2021.

Sixty-year-old Mr Popoola, who was in a route 507 single-decker, has denied causing Ms Burr’s death by dangerous driving.
