Activ8 service problems

A vital bus service that runs between Wiltshire and Hampshire continues to experience widespread problems, months after operators had promised action.

The mayor of Tidworth said the Wiltshire town had been left ‘frustrated’ by the poor reliability of connections to Salisbury and Andover.

Stagecoach South, which jointly runs the Activ8 service with Salisbury Reds, said the problem was due to having too few drivers, although it was trying to recruit more.

A Wiltshire-based driving instructor for the bus industry said the problems would continue unless and until wages increased.
