Bus driver attacked

Sussex Police are seeking witnesses after a group of youths robbed a bus driver in West Sussex during a journey from Bognor Regis to Chichester.

The victim had been driving a Stagecoach South double-decker along the A259 Chichester Road in Bognor.

The attack took place at about 19 30 (7.30 p.m.) on Monday 27th March, shortly after the driver had stopped the bus.

The driver pulled over into a lay-by near the Yeomans Honda garage to confront a group of young people smoking on the bus. Some members of this group then assaulted the man and stole his cash, before fleeing towards Colworth Lane in Colworth, Chichester.
